The Rules of The Ladder

I. Your user name on this forum MUST be the same name you use on KCVDS.

II. Once you sign up for a ladder you are automatically placed in the lowest position.

III. You may sign up for multiple ladders

IV. All matches will be best two out of three

V. To Challenge someone you MUST make a new post in the Ladder you want to play for, in the post you MUST state your rank, and the person’s your challenging rank.

VI. Please report all results immediately. Report the results in the same post that you made the challenge.

VII. You can only challenge someone up to five spots above you on the ladder, this is to avoid everyone ganging up upon position #1.

VIII. You don’t have to accept all challenges. If you don’t accept a challenge, you must post your refusal in the same post of the challenge, but being on the ladder implies that you will play. So anyone who refuses 5 challenges in a row will be dropped to the lowest rank, unless they have informed a Mod or Admin of a temporary absence.

IX. If you refuse a challenge, and you are in any of the positions of #1, #2, #3, #4, or #5, then you drop to position #6. This is to prevent someone from taking position #1, and then refusing all challenge games, just so not to lose his/her position.

X. If a player challenges and wins, switch positions with the challenged player. If a player challenges and loses, there is no change. All movement takes place at the conclusion of games

XI. If a challenge is accepted and doesn't have a result in 1 week, the challenge is null and void.

XII. If there are any arguments, over who won and who lost, then both of the players stay at their positions. To avoid this, it is best that screenshots and videos are used.

XIII. If you encounter another player behaving in an unacceptable manner in chat the best thing to do is just ignore them. If you notice one particular user being abusive repeatedly, please contact an Admin or a Mod by PM, with as much proof as you can provide.

XIV. You must play at least once every two weeks to maintain your position on the ladder; you cannot just get to the top and then disappear. If you don’t show up for two weeks in a row, you drop five spots. A third week and you drop to the bottom of the ladder. If you haven't played a match in 30 days, your account will be removed automatically.

XV. You are not allowed to play Ladder matches against people who live in the same household as you (whether you are in the same physical location or not for that specific game), or have the same IP address or are in the same location as you. You can play friends and relatives who do not live with you, but you should limit matches against them to one or two a week. Remember, the idea of the Ladder is to see how you stack up against players from all over the world — not across the street.

XVI. If you are discovered using another user's password both of your accounts will be removed.

XVII. IF YOU HAVE BEEN FOUND GUILTY OF CHEATING YOU WILL BE DELETED AND YOUR IP WILL BE BANNED.
